Why is building the right team so important? How do you do it? What are the key ingredients to a great team?
These are just some of the questions that our guest speaker, Carl Burke, will be answering as he relates his real-world experiences of building a team through an interactive and engaging format.
When investors and potential business partners are looking at your company, the number one thing that they look for is a solid team. They know that business plans and strategies will change, but that a strong team will overcome the challenges and obstacles and pivot the company towards a successful track. That is the difference between successful entrepreneurs and those that fail to make their mark – the building of a strong team.
Carl M. Burke has over 30 years professional experience in the Medical Device industry. Most recently he was the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition at Abbott. Prior to his return to Southern California in 1999 he was responsible for Finance and Human Resources for Guidant do Brasil in São Paulo and Guidant Sales Corporation in Seattle.
Before joining Guidant in 1994, Carl was the manager of Business Development for Hybritech Incorporated. Carl has an M.B.A. from the University of San Diego and a B.A. in Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
What Carl’s bio doesn’t tell you is that this is one guy who really gets it. He’s built teams and recruited people for specific places on a management team. Any person who ever wants to get further in life is going to need the help of others, and building a team is the best way to guarantee that support.
