“Mediation” tells the story of a divorce mediation that spirals completely out of control for a husband (Freddy Rodriguez), his soon-to-be ex-wife (Marley Shelton) and their court-appointed mediator (Marilyn Sanabria). The short, written and directed by Lorite features television star Freddy Rodriguez (HBO – SIX FEET UNDER, ABC – UGLY BETTY) alongside actress Marty Shelton (CBS – ELEVENTH HOUR, Dimension Films – SIN CITY) and Marilyn Sanabria (“Between”).

Freddy Rodriguez is increasing his presence behind the camera. The 38-year-old Puerto Rican actor has partnered with Francisco Lorite and producer Bill Winett to launch Top Rebel Productions in an effort to tell stories they care about on their own terms while inspiring audiences.
Freddy and Francisco met when the latter cast him in “Random”,  a project that was meant to be Lorite’s feature film directorial debut. While the financing for the film collapsed, nevertheless, a new friendship rose out of the unfortunate predicament. Francisco, Freddy and their mutual friend Bill Winett then joined forces together founding Top Rebel Productions.
“Mediation” is the first project released under the Top Rebel Productions marquee. The short is a project the three of them decided to do as ” a planting of the flag in the ground” – a way of showing they are here and they have something to say.”  As their first project, Mediation sets the tone for the Top Rebel Productions stable of projects; setting the creative tone for the company’s overall production direction focusing on dark films & television projects including crime dramas and thrillers.
The former Six Feet Under star and the gang are already hard at work, developing film and television projects for the New Year and beyond- including the feature film “Cargo”.
In the meantime, the trio is looking forward to world debut the short film Mediation, at NewFilmmakers LA Film Festival on January 11, 2014 at the AT&T Center in downtown Los Angeles.
