The Inland Empire Economic Partnership (IEEP) and the Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire (MCIE) have announced that they are creating a strategic alliance in order to strengthen leadership and the workforce for the manufacturing sector in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

“The manufacturing sector is one of the three largest sectors of the Inland Empire economy and the stronger relationship between IEEP and the Manufacturers’ Council will help insure we are leveraging our mutual relationships to guarantee a strong educated management and a trained skilled workforce”
, said Pearl Virgen, Chair of the MCIE and Senior Human Resources Manager – West for Cott Beverages, USA.

The Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire was founded in 2005 by manufacturers, colleges and the Workforce Investment Boards to help develop the skills of incumbent workers to help maintain and develop a competitive edge in their respective industries. The last summit in 2013 drew in over 500 participants and 40 vendors. The 3rd Manufacturers Summit is schedule for Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Ontario Convention Center.

Under the agreement, the Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire will become a strategic partner of IEEP and IEEP will provide fiscal and logistical support to the Council.

“The Board of Directors of Inland Empire Economic Partnership is pleased to welcome the Manufacturers’ Council of the Inland Empire to the IEEP family”
