41st Annual Children’s Conference “HOPE FOR FAMILIES, PREVENTION FOR CHILDREN
Aiming to build a network of professionals dedicated to helping children grow up in healthy and safe communities, Family Service Association and HOPE Collaborative are sponsoring the 41st Annual Children’s Conference entitled “HOPE FOR FAMILIES, PREVENTION FOR CHILDREN.” The event will take place on Friday, April 11, 2014 at La Sierra University, 4500 Riverwalk Parkway in Riverside CA from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
The keynote speaker is neuroscientist Frank Kros, who will present a workshop, “Child Abuse and the Brain: The Developmental Impact of Trauma in Childhood” which delves into research that reveals the impact of abuse on the developing brain from childhood to adulthood. Kros will demonstrate how recent discoveries have led to the development of new intervention strategies for treating children with abuse histories.
Other workshop topics include: Child Abuse and Human Trafficking, Child Abuse in Native American Culture, and Special Risk Populations.
