New Tax Services Tailored to Needs of Spanish and Bilingual Speakers

Financial Literacy Starts with Understanding Taxes
New Tax Services are Tailored to Unique Needs of Spanish and Bilingual Speakers

For the millions of Spanish speakers in the United States, language and cultural barriers can become obstacles to financial literacy, which includes msiempre2anaging income taxes—an important step toward the “American Dream.”

There is a new service that is custom-designed to help Hispanics effectively manage their income taxes, is user-friendly, educational and convenient for Spanish-dominant and bilingual Hispanics, including recent immigrants. This unique service has been created by Siempre Tax+, a division of Liberty Tax, with locations nationwide, including California in Los Angeles, Long Beach, El Centro, Escondido and Riverside.

Assistance from bilingual tax experts for services such as tax preparation, state and federal applications, and understanding  financial responsibilities under current tax laws and federal policies, can help in overcoming challenges to financial literacy.

“SiempreTax+ recognizes the opportunity to serve a large and growing percentage of the U.S. population with diverse and unique needs,” said Carlos Perez, COO of SiempreTax+. “Our commitment  is to execute the meaningful mission of serving Spanish-speaking customers.”

Other services include driver’s license assistance, notary services, and immigration information and help for non-citizens applying for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), at no charge. The ITIN offers a means to obtaining a credit card or opening a bank account, filing taxes, and helps establish a record of residency in the United States. Assistance in understanding the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and an individual’s responsibilities under the law is offered at Siempre Tax+ ACA seminars.

And as identity theft cases rise during tax season, Siempre Tax+ offers free protection for new customers who file their 2014 tax return by March 31. “Identity theft is a real and pervasive issue for consumers today,” said SiempreTax+ Founder and Liberty Tax  CEO John T. Hewitt. “We know how much trust people put in their tax preparers and we work hard at SiempreTax+ to maintain that trust.”

Taxpayers have until Wednesday, April 15, 2015, to file their 2014 tax returns and pay any tax due. This year’s return will include new questions to incorporate provisions of the Affordable Care Act (or ACA).

SiempreTax+ is a national tax preparation brand, focused on serving the unique needs of the Hispanic community. SiempreTax+ is an independent brand under the Liberty Tax umbrella. Liberty Tax, Inc. (NASDAQ: TAX) is the parent company of Liberty Tax Service, founded in 1997 by CEO John T. Hewitt.
