Auditions for male performers for Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon
Producer Jo Schuman Silver has announced auditions for male performers for Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon, the world’s longest running musical revue. Auditions will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Club Fugazi (678 Beach Blanket Babylon Boulevard) in San Francisco. No appointment is necessary.
All auditioners should be prepared to sing one ballad and one up-tempo number (preferably rock or pop). An accompanist will be provided, but auditioners must bring their own sheet music (in their key) along with a current résumé and photo. Dance shoes are optional. Comic timing, acting skills and the ability to imitate popular culture icons and to play with accents are a plus. Some pop culture icons currently portrayed by the men include Elvis, Michael Jackson, Governor Jerry Brown, Governor Chris Christie, Justin Bieber, Michelle Bachman, HRH Queen Elizabeth, Tom Cruise, Prince Harry, Prince William and Magic Mike.
Beach Blanket Babylon offers competitive salary, full medical benefits (health) as well as paid vacations and sick leave.
Performers should bring one copy of a photo and résumé with them. Interested performers who cannot attend the auditions can send a DVD of their best performance voice (no dancing or acting) via email to email@example.com, or they can mail a DVD to: SSPI, 470 Columbus Avenue #204, San Francisco, CA 94133. DVDs should be no longer than two minutes.
